Know What We Accept - And What We Don't
Recycling plays a critical role in protecting our environment and supporting a sustainable future. To operate responsibly, safely, and ensure regulatory compliance. Below we have outlined the materials we accept and those that are prohibited at our facility.
Accepted Materials:
- Iron and steel
- Aluminum (extrusion, sheet, siding, etc.)
- Brass and bronze
- Copper (insulated wire, tubing, etc.)
- Stainless steel
- Car bodies (fluids and batteries removed)
- Electric motors and transformers
Prohibited Materials:
- Pressurized containers (e.g., gas cylinders, fire extinguishers)
- Flammable or explosive materials
- Radioactive materials
- Hazardous waste or unknown chemicals
- Liquids (oil, fuel, paint)
- Items containing refrigerants (e.g., A/C units not properly evacuated)
- Boron, phosphate, chlorinated plastics, asbestos, lead
- Garbage, concrete rubble, cast iron with lead, explosives
- Manhole covers, PCBs, aerosol cans, gas filters
- Oil filters, capacitors, ballasts, copy machines
- Wet transformers, propane tanks without holes
- Gas cans, wet or odorous drums, gas tanks
- Flammable liquids, gas cylinders with valves
- Electronics including computers, televisions, batteries
Important Notes:
- This list is not all-inclusive. All materials are subject to rejection.
- Any prohibited materials identified during processing may result in reduced or forfeited compensation.
- Texas Administrative Code Rule §328.13 requires proper disposal of used batteries at certified facilities.
- Refrigerant Removal: Seller certifies refrigerant (CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs) has been removed before delivery.
